Results for the DV 2011 visa lottery program which is also called as green card lottery will be available in the months of May - July 2010. The selected people under the Green card lottery program through the computer random draw will be notified to their address by normal postal mail. The applicants who are not selected for the DV Lottery program for further processing will not get any notifications. If you get any winning notifications through email or fax or phone verify it carefully and don't send money to unknown people to get American visas.

The entire applicants can check their status online for the DV 2011 from 1st of July 2010. For this you will need the confirmation number which was shown to you when your application was successfully accepted last year.

DV Visa Lottery will accept entries for the program from eligible people for a period of the given 60 day’s period from all over the world through the American Government's official diversity visa lottery program web site.

As the applicant and the dependants are required to submit an image file of themselves according to the instructions, there will be a section in the web site to check your image files online. This will allow only checking the image file's acceptable size.

60 minutes of time will be available to fill and submit the online application form. If you can't do it in the given 60 minutes then download a new form and start the process again till you get the confirmation on your computer screen. Write down the confirmation number or save it in your PC. The visa lottery is simple but it is covered with strict rules. The winner will not get away with the immigrant visa but will be given a chance to apply for it by paying the non-refundable visa fees.

And they must proof their eligibility, medical fitness, Affidavit of Support and police clearance to obtain their visa on the interview date at the consular office.

Entries must include the name, date and place of birth of the applicant's spouse and all natural children, as well as all legally-adopted and stepchildren, who are unmarried and under the age of 21 (except children who are already U.S. citizens or Legal Permanent Residents), even if you are no longer legally married to the child's parent, and even if the spouse or child does not currently reside with you and/or will not immigrate with you. Note that married children and children 21 years or older will not qualify for the diversity visa. Failure to list all children will result in your disqualification for the visa.
